Privacy Policy

How we handle your data.

Last updated: April 16, 2026

Olively ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our iOS application, Android application, or web application (collectively, the "App"). Please read this policy carefully. By using the App, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and any profile information you choose to provide (such as your attachment style preferences).
  • Message Content: When you use the Translate or Decode features, you submit message content for processing. This may include text you type or speech you dictate.
  • Partner Profile: Information you provide about your partner's attachment style to enable accurate translations.
  • Relationship Pulse Check-ins: When you use Relationship Pulse, we collect the check-in responses and ratings you submit so we can track your relationship health over time and surface personalized insights.
  • Program Progress: When you engage with our guided programs (such as the 7-day attachment style programs), we record your progress, completed days, and any reflections or responses you submit.
  • Library Activity: Articles, lessons, or exercises you open, bookmark, or complete within the Library are associated with your account so you can resume across devices.
  • Communications: If you contact us for support, we collect the information you provide in your communications.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device Information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
  • Usage Data: Information about how you use the App, including features accessed, time spent, and interaction patterns.
  • Log Data: Error reports, crash logs, and performance data to help us improve the App.

1.3 Voice Input

When you use voice input, your speech is transcribed to text in real-time using a third-party speech-to-text service (such as OpenAI Whisper). Audio is used solely for this transcription and is not stored by us or retained after the transcript is produced. Only the resulting text is processed by the App and saved to your History along with the resulting translation.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the App's features and functionality
  • Process your messages through our Translate and Decode features
  • Personalize your experience based on your attachment style profile
  • Send you technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support messages
  • Respond to your comments, questions, and customer service requests
  • Monitor and analyze usage trends to improve user experience
  • Detect, prevent, and address technical issues and security threats
  • Comply with legal obligations

3. How We Process Your Content

3.1 Translate and Decode

  • Your message content is sent to our secure servers for AI processing
  • Messages are processed in real-time to generate translations or interpretations
  • Translations and decoded messages are saved to your History so you can revisit them. You can delete individual items, clear your entire History, or delete your account at any time
  • We may retain anonymized, aggregated data to improve our AI models, but this data cannot be linked back to you
  • We do not read, review, or access your personal messages for any purpose other than providing the Service

3.2 Relationship Pulse, Programs, and Library

  • Relationship Pulse check-ins are associated with your account so we can track trends over time and generate personalized insights
  • Aggregated, anonymized Pulse data may be used to improve our models and understand relationship trends in general, but is not linked back to you individually
  • Program progress (such as completed days in a 7-day program) and saved Library content are stored with your account so you can resume across devices
  • Any reflections, journal entries, or responses you submit within a program are stored privately against your account and are not shared with other users

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

4.1 Service Providers

We may share information with third-party vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as:

  • Cloud hosting and infrastructure providers

These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and use it only for the purposes we specify.

4.2 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

4.3 Business Transfers

If Olively is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit and at rest
  • Secure authentication mechanisms
  • Regular security assessments and updates
  • Access controls limiting employee access to personal data

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Resolve disputes

Translations and decoded messages are stored in your History, along with Relationship Pulse check-ins, program progress, and Library activity. This data is retained until you delete it or close your account.

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. For material changes, we may provide additional notice. Your continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
