Do not start with the volume of affection. Start with what the affection asks you to surrender.
Early dating can be intense for ordinary reasons. Two people are excited. Contact is new and rewarding. Both have time. The match feels unusually easy. Frequent messages and fast affection can be part of that without becoming a control pattern.
The phrase “love bombing” is commonly used for intense affection or attention that operates inside a manipulative or controlling pattern. The research construct is still limited and inconsistently defined, which makes casual diagnosis especially risky. A long good-morning text and a lavish date cannot establish it.
Watch autonomy instead. Can you keep your pace, privacy, friendships, schedule, opinions, and right to say no? Interest may be intense while leaving those things intact. A controlling pattern makes closeness conditional on giving them up.
